Greetings! I’m Pastor Deb Cote and I’m glad to be with you all at Highlands for this time of transition. As your bridge pastor, I am honored to walk with you through the call process for your next pastor. I look forward to getting to know you as a congregation and as individuals in the coming months. As we continue in this time of pandemic, we are all in need of connection and support. Please know that I am available via phone, email, zoom or we can schedule an in-person (masked and socially distanced) visit as you need. I hope to meet you soon! In the meantime, here’s a little bit about me:
I come most recently from Gillette, Wy, where I served as pastor for 4 years, but the metro area is home for me. I grew up in Aurora, Co, where I was a member at St. Mark’s growing up. I went to Wartburg Theological Seminary for my M.Div. In my pastoral vocation, I am passionate about connecting the many generations of the church. We have so many stories of faith and experiences of God’s grace from the various ages and stages of life to share with one another! It is truly a gift.
The other place that is very much home for me is Uruguay. For my seminary internship I spent a year in Montevideo, Uruguay, where I met my now spouse, David. We’ve been married for 3 years and we welcomed our little girl, Rosalina, into our family in February of 2020.
It’s good to be here with you and I thank God for the opportunity to worship with you and lead you in the days to come.
This is Christ's church.
There is a place for you here. We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world.
